Plug-in Charging Time is Too Long [08/2014 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Health Check.
- Check DTCs.
Result
Result Proceed to No DTCs are output. A DTCs are output. B - Turn the power switch off.

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CHARGE CANCEL HISTORY)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Plug-in Control / Utility / Charge Cancel History.
- Check for Charge Cancel History.
Result
Result Proceed to A "Charge Cancel History" listed in the following table is not output. A A "Charge Cancel History" listed in the following table is output. B Charge Cancel History Charges Delayed (Charge Control Value Low) Charges Delayed (+B) Charges Delayed (Charger Output Low) - Turn the power switch off.

- CHECK PLUG-IN CHARGE STATE
HINT:
- Check with the customer if the 120 V power used for plug-in charging was supplied by a power company.
- If the electric vehicle charger cable assembly that was used to plug-in charge the vehicle is available, perform a reproduction test using it and a known good 120 V outlet as follows. This allows the electric vehicle charger cable assembly to be determined as OK or NG when the vehicle is not malfunctioning.
- Plug-in charge the vehicle using a known good 120 V outlet.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Clear DTC.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Plug-in Control / Data List.
- Check that "State of Charge (All Bat)" shows 70% or less.
- Turn the power switch off.
- Connect the electric vehicle charger cable assembly and fully charge the vehicle. Check that plug-in charge control system DTCs are not output.
Result

- CAUSE ANALYSIS (VEHICLE RELATED CAUSE)
- Analyze the cause according to the following table.VEHICLE
Possible Cause Action to be Taken Discharged auxiliary battery Turn the power switch on (READY) and leave the vehicle for 15 min (to charge the auxiliary battery).
Explain to the customer that the auxiliary battery will discharge when the vehicle is left without being started for a long time.Accuracy of charging time remaining display Explain to the customer that the charging time remaining display is just a reference and there may be a discrepancy due to environment, such as ambient temperature during plug-in charging.
A full charge is given priority over the scheduled charging finish time. Therefore, the plug-in charging may continue. - Take appropriate action in accordance with the result of the cause analysis.

Possible Cause Action to be Taken Accuracy of the set charging time of the charging station - Interview customer and provide instruction on usage.
- Explain to the customer that the set charging time of the charging station is just a reference and there may be some discrepancies.
The AC voltage of the charging station drops or power supplied to the vehicle drops due to the charging station operation. Check the charging station Plug-in charging was suspended due to power outage. Explain to the customer that plug-in charging will be suspended when a power outage occurs and it will be resumed when the power returns to normal. Plug-in charge control voltage drops due to high/low temperature or AC supply voltage function. Explain to the customer that plug-in will take longer when the temperature is high or low, or power supply is inappropriate. USERPossible Cause Action to be Taken Setting of the charging timer function is not correct. (Unreasonable time is set for the ending time.) Interview customer and provide instruction on usage. - Take appropriate action in accordance with the result of the cause analysis.
