Installation [06/2017 - ]: Procedure

HINT: 

• Perform this step only when necessary.
• If a pre-collision city heater has been removed, replace it with a new one. Install a new pre-collision city heater with the pre-collision city heater wire as a set.
• Be careful not to bend the pre-collision city heater as it may cause an open circuit. If the pre-collision city heater has been bent, make sure to replace it with a new one.
• If the heater wire and adhesive and plastic outer layers of the pre-collision city heater have separated, make sure to replace the pre-collision city heater with a new one, otherwise water ingress may occur and cause a short circuit.

1. Clean the windshield glass surface.
2. If the ambient temperature is lower than 15°C:
   1. Using a heat light, heat the pre-collision city heater and windshield glass surface.

      WARNING:

      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      NOTE:

      Do not heat the pre-collision city heater or windshield glass excessively.

3. Connect the 2 connectors.

4. Remove the release paper from a new pre-collision city heater.

   HINT: 

   After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

5. Align the pre-collision city heater with pre-collision city heater wire with the alignment marks and install it.

   NOTE:

   • Make sure to install the pre-collision city heater with pre-collision city heater wire within the black ceramic border of the windshield glass.
   • The double-sided tape of a pre-collision city heater will deteriorate if it is detached. Make sure to replace the pre-collision city heater with a new one when reattachment is necessary.

   HINT: 

   Apply the pre-collision city heater along the bracket.

1. If the pre-collision city heater has not been removed and replaced to a new one:
   1. Connect the 2 connectors.
2. Engage the 5 clamps to install the pre-collision city heater wire.

   HINT: 

   Engage the clamps in the order shown in the illustration.

3. Connect the connector.
