Inspection [02/2024 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Outlet Side)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C73-1 (E2) - C73-2 (THW) 20°C (68°F) 2.32 to 2.59 kΩ C73-1 (E2) - C73-2 (THW) 80°C (176°F) 0.310 to 0.326 kΩ NOTE:If checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to contact the terminals. After checking, wipe the water off the engine coolant temperature sensor.
*a Component without harness connected
(Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor)- If the result is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Water Inlet Housing Side)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D37-1 (E2) - D37-2 (THW3) 20°C (68°F) 2.32 to 2.59 kΩ D37-1 (E2) - D37-2 (THW3) 80°C (176°F) 0.310 to 0.326 kΩ NOTE:If checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to contact the terminals. After checking, wipe the water off the engine coolant temperature sensor.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

After checking, wipe the water off the engine coolant temperature sensor.
