Inspection [02/2024 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
- Check the resistance.
*a Component without harness connected
(Cam Timing Oil Control Solenoid Assembly)*b Intake Side *c Exhaust Side Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C25-1(-) - C25-2(+) 0°C (32°F) 6.3 to 7.3 Ω C25-1(-) - C25-2(+) 20°C (68°F) 6.9 to 7.9 Ω C25-1(-) - C25-2(+) 40°C (104°F) 7.4 to 8.6 Ω C31-1(-) - C31-2(+) 0°C (32°F) 6.3 to 7.3 Ω C31-1(-) - C31-2(+) 20°C (68°F) 6.9 to 7.9 Ω C31-1(-) - C31-2(+) 40°C (104°F) 7.4 to 8.6 Ω - Check the shaft stroke.
- Measure the length A and B as shown.NOTE:
Do not apply battery voltage to the terminals of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
HINT:
If the shaft does not extend under its own weight, pull it with your fingers.
*a Shaft Side Facing Down *b Shaft Side Facing Up *c Shaft - Subtract B from A.
Standard Shaft Stroke
4.3 mm (0.169 in.) or more
- Measure the length A and B as shown.
- If it is not as specified, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
- Check the resistance.
