Steering Column Assembly: Removal
- Disconnect battery ground. Take out pinch bolt securing upper universal to steering mast. Disconnect electrical harness from steering column and separate plug connectors (Figure). Remove plastic cover from around steering column.
- Center punch shear head bolts and use a small chisel to remove. With wheels facing in a straight ahead position, withdraw steering column, noting number and position of flat and concave washers.
