Front Fender Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  No

Removal Procedure: 

  1. Disconnect the 12V Battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
  2. Remove front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  3. Remove front bumper fascia guide. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA GUIDE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

  4. Unclip the emergency cable (1) from the retaining clip (2).

  5. Open front door to access the bolts (1).
  6. Remove 5 bolts (1).

    Torque: 8 Nm

  7. Remove 2 bolts (1).

    Torque: 8 Nm

  8. Remove the 2 expanding rivets (1).
  9. Remove the extension cover (2).

  10. Remove 4 bolts (1).

    Torque: 8 Nm

    Front Fender driver side: 

  11. Unlock and disconnect 3 electrical connectors (1).

  12. Remove the front fender (1).
    NOTE: Damage 
    Risk of damage to vehicle paint work.
    • Mask off/protect paint work appropriately to avoid damage.

Replacement Procedure: 

Front fender driver side: 

  1. Rebuild charge port lid. Refer to CHARGE PORT LID REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  2. Rebuild charge port housing. Refer to CHARGE PORT HOUSING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Installation Procedure: 

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

    All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

  2. Install front bumper cover guide. Refer to FRONT BUMPER FASCIA GUIDE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  3. Install front wheelhouse liner. Refer to FRONT WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
  4. Reconnect the 12V Battery negative terminal. Refer to 12V BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
