Lifting And Jacking The Vehicle: Notes
Vehicle Lifting Points:
- There are 4 vehicle lifting points: 2 on each side sill next to the front wheel and to the rear wheel
Vehicle Lifting Operation:
- Before lifting, ensure that all lifting equipment weight rating meets or exceeds the weight of the vehicle and any contents
- Position the vehicle centrally between the lift hoist posts
- Place the lift arms at the indicated locations at the vehicle
- When lifting, ensure that the hoist pads are not in contact with the high voltage battery, and avoid any damage to the underbody of the vehicle
- Before working, make sure that the vehicle is stable on the lift e.g., by snapping the lift arms into a fixed position
- Strap the vehicle to the hoist before removing heavy components if there is a risk of the vehicle becoming unbalanced
WARNING:
- Overhead Suspended Load and Falling Parts
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in death or serious injury when elevated loads or components are incorrectly secured/supported.
- All lifting equipment weight rating must meet or exceed the weight of the vehicle and any contents
- The lifting equipment must be in good condition and approved for use
- Only lift the vehicle from the identified lift points
- Ensure the vehicle is stable before performing any work underneath it
- Ensure there are no loose components which may fall
- Ensure hoist pads are not in contact with the high voltage battery pack housing or any components other than the lift pad blocks
- Always use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Seek assistance when handling larger components
