Steering Wheel Removal And Installation/Replacement

WARNING: Explosive materials
Failure to follow specified procedures may result in death or serious injury due to improper handling of Airbag Module possible.

Only appropriately trained persons may carry out work on pyrotechnic components or the Airbag Control Unit.
Perform SRS disabling procedure prior to commencing work
When replacing components of the SRS system, never install used or non-genuine components
Pyrotechnic Components must be handled and scrapped appropriately

Removal Procedure:

Remove the Airbag Module. Refer to AIRBAG STEERING WHEEL MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Unlock and disconnect 3 electrical connectors (1).

Removal note: Pay attention to the wiring as it may get caught in the steering wheel during removal process.
Remove bolt (1) and remove the Steering Wheel
Do not re-use this bolt (1).

Torque: 62.5 Nm

Replacement Procedure:

Rebuild the Multi Function Switch. Refer to STEERING WHEEL MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Installation note: Make sure that the markings on the steering wheel and the steering column are the same.

Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.
All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification!
Install the Airbag Module. Refer to AIRBAG STEERING WHEEL MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
