Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Removal And Installation/Replacement

Mobile Repair Possible:  No

Removal Procedure: 

The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side. 

  1. Remove rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to REAR WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION REPLACEMENT

  2. Unlock and disconnect electrical connector (1).

  3. Open both retainer (1) at the marked area and detach cable for the rear wheel speed sensor from the bracket.

    Installation note: Pay attention to proper cable routing.

  4. Detach cable for the wheel speed sensor from the bracket (1).

    Installation note: Pay attention to proper cable routing.

    Removal note: For better illustration the removal for the cover is shown with the rear shock absorber removed. 

  5. Carefully release latches at the marked area with a screwdriver and remove the cover (1) out of the upper wishbone cable bracket.

  6. Detach cable for the wheel speed sensor from the cable bracket (1).

    Installation note: Pay attention to proper cable routing.

  7. Remove bolt (1).

    Torque: 8 Nm 

  8. Remove rear wheel speed sensor (2).

    Installation note: Clean the threaded hole and treat it with corrosion protection. Thinly grease the contact surface. 

Installation Procedure: 

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following.

    All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification! 

  2. Install rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to REAR WHEELHOUSE LINER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
