Idle Stabilizer: Operation

  1. Turn ignition switch on. Idle stabilizer should vibrate and hum. If stabilizer does not operate, disconnect connector from idle stabilizer. Using Tester (VW 1325 A-1), check for continuity. Continuity should exist.
  2. Replace idle stabilizer if no continuity exists. If continuity is obtained, reconnect connector to valve. Check electrical connections on control unit relay adapter located in front of right tail light.
  3. Replace idle stabilizer control unit if electrical connections are okay.
