(1) Body code is designated by 7th and 8th digit of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). See VIN DEFINITION  below.
(2) Engine code letters and engine serial number are located on engine block. See Figure , Figure or Figure . An adhesive label on drive belt cover also identifies engine code and engine serial number. Engine code is additionally located on underhood vehicle data plate.
(3) Engine is identified by 5th digit of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
(4) Sequential multiport fuel injection.
(5) VR6 is a combination of "Vee" and "Reihenmotor" (German). The combination roughly translates as "in-line vee". For practical purposes, engine has 6 in-line but slightly staggered cylinders.
(6) Direct fuel injection.
(7) Direct ignition system.
