Window Motor & Regulator: Installation
CAUTION:
DO NOT overtighten regulator motor mounting bolts. Plastic sleeve on window regulator could be damaged.
NOTE:
Replacement assembly carrier regulator gearing is secured with a cable tie to prevent it from moving or falling out.
- Slide a hammer handle between window guide and assembly carrier until end of the hammer shaft presses against assembly carrier. Remove cable tie and install regulator motor. Ensure regulator gearing is aligned when window regulator motor is installed. Install regulator motor bolts and tighten to 31 INCH lbs. (3.5 N.m).
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten assembly carrier-to-bolts in a crisscross pattern to 71 INCH lbs. (8 N.m). Loosen window bracket clamps, press door window into window guides and tighten clamp bolts 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Lower door lock bolt is used to center door lock. Tighten door lock bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m), then perform functional check.
