Activation And Choice Of Driving Mode

The driving mode is selected using the Driving Profile Selection Switch Module -E592-. In the 2015 Golf, this is the first button on the button panel on the left side next to the selector lever. It is integrated into the system through the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519-.

When the function is deactivated, the vehicle setup defaults to Normal driving mode and Driving Profile Selection Switch Module -E592- is not illuminated. When an alternative driving mode is selected, the switch module illuminates as feedback for the driver. The Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- is the master for the driving mode function.

When the function is activated using the switch, "Driving Mode Selection" appears in the infotainment display. Depending on the vehicle equipment, different buttons appear on the touchscreen to allow the preferred driving mode to be selected.

The mode is selected by touching the button shown on the display, and the vehicle is set up accordingly.

When Individual mode is selected, an additional window appears where then following functions can be set individually:

The current setting is displayed to the right of the function. A drop-down menu for each function allows values to be selected.

The selected driving mode is displayed at the top left side of the Infotainment display. The selected driving mode is linked to the current key profile. A driving mode will remain active until it is changed by the driver, or a different vehicle key with different profile is used.
