Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Calibrating

NOTE:

The tire pressure monitoring system must always be calibrated only "after" the tire pressure values have been adjusted to the correct values.

If no pressure loss and no tire damage can be found after a tire pressure warning, the erroneous warning can be eliminated by calibrating.

Using the ABS speed sensors, the tire pressure monitoring system compares the RPM, the tire tread circumference and the vibration behavior of the individual wheels. If the tire pressure for one or several wheels changes, the tire pressure monitoring system displays the change in the instrument cluster and in the Infotainment system.

The tire tread circumference changes when:

The yellow Tire Pressure Monitoring Display Indicator Lamp -- is inside the instrument cluster -arrow-.
