12V Battery, Checking
The battery test must be performed with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Checking and Adjusting Conditions
- Charge Level (SOC) of the battery greater than or equal 80 %.
- Performed visual inspection.
- Checked battery terminal clamps for secure fit.
Procedure
-- Check the exterior condition, the connectors, secure fit, the caps of the vent openings (open on the negative side and closed on the positive side) and the acid level indicator of the battery by performing a visual inspection.
-- If the acid level is too low (indicator shows >>clear/bright yellow<<), replace the battery.
-- 12V Battery, check the battery terminal clamp for a secure fit.
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER, CONNECTING .
-- Determine the charge level (SOC).

-- If the charge level of the 12V battery is less than 80%, charge the battery with an external battery charger. Refer to BATTERY, CHARGING or charge the 12V battery via the high-voltage battery.
-- If the charge level of the battery is greater than or equal 80%, check the battery using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
