Fuel Pump

  1. Make sure that the fuel pump and tank pump function correctly. Remove the panel on the right side under the dashboard. Disconnect the 3-pole connector.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between the blue/red and blue/yellow wires in connector.
  3. Turn on the ignition. The pumps should start. Feel the fuel line pulsations by hand, this is how the main fuel pump operation can be sensed. Remove the fuel tank cap and listen in the filler tube, this is how the tank pump operation can be heard. Turn off the ignition.
  4. If neither pump operates, then check fuse no. 12 and the wiring. If the tank pump does not operate then check fuse no. 5, the pump wiring and the pump. If the fuel pump does not operate, then check the wiring and pump.
