Throttle Switch

  1. Connect ohmmeter between ground and terminal 3 at electronic control unit connector. With ignition off, depress accelerator pedal. Zero resistance should be measured at idle position and infinite resistance should be measured at all other positions.
  2. Connect ohmmeter between ground and terminal 12 at electronic control unit connector. Repeat step 1). Infinite resistance should be measured at idle position and zero resistance should be measured at all other positions.
  3. If resistance readings are not as specified in steps 1) and 2), check throttle switch ground at intake manifold. If ground connection is okay, replace throttle switch.
