All Models

  1. Place wheel in straight ahead position. Loosen jam nuts on tie rods. Loosen outer clamps on rubber dust boot.
  2. Turn tie rods until toe-in is within specifications. Make sure length of each tie rod does not differ more than .08" (2 mm). On GL, DL and Turbo, measure difference between wrench grip on tie rod and jam nut. On 760 GLE, measure difference between lock nut and edge of screw thread.
    NOTE: Manufacturer recommends rustproofing threads and nuts after adjustments have been made.
  3. Check steering wheel position and adjust if necessary. Adjustments are made by removing steering wheel and repositioning it to proper location.
