PCV System: Description

The crankcase ventilation system prevents the escape of blow-by gases into the atmosphere. The crankcase ventilation system for DL, GL, and Turbo models consists of an oil trap, flame guard (except Turbo models), PCV valve, and connecting hoses.

The system for 760 GLE models consists of a calibrated PCV orifice, flame guard, and connecting hoses to intake manifold and start injector.

Diesel models route crankcase gases from top of valve cover through a connecting hose to the air intake duct. The 760 GLE Turbo Diesel models use an oil separator valve mounted on top of valve cover and a connecting hose to the turbo air intake.
