Cooling System: Coolant

Since aluminum is used in the engine, active corrosion protection in the coolant is necessary to help prevent corrosion damage. Use genuine Volve coolant, type C (blue-green) diluted w/clean water in proportions 50/50. This mixture helps to prevent corrosion and frost damage. Never top-up the cooling system w/water alone. Use genuine Volvo coolant diluted w/clean water in proportions 50/50. The coolant should be changed regularly since the corrosion-protective additives in the coolant loose their effect in time.
