With gear selector in Park, depress brake pedal.
Move gear selector to desired position.
If gear selector DOES NOT MOVE, check fuse #12.
TO MANUALLY RELEASE gear selector, push finger between brushes at base of shifter and push catch to the left. See Fig 1 .
Select a gear.

NOTE: 1986-90 models are not equipped with a shift interlock.
