Idle Air Control Valve

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ECU connector. Fuel injection ECU is located on right side of instrument panel, under kick panel. Push out clip and disconnect ECU connector.
  2. Remove cover from ECU connector to expose pin identification numbers. Visually inspect all pin connector sleeves to ensure all pins are at same height.
  3. On 240, 240 DL, 740 GL and 740 GLE, connect an ohmmeter between fuel ECU connector pins No. 9 and No. 33. Ohmmeter should read 8 ohms.
  4. On 740 Turbo, 760 Turbo and 760 GLE, connect ohmmeter between fuel ECU connector pins No. 9 and No. 10, and then between pins No. 9 and No. 23. Ohmmeter should read 20 ohms in each reading.
