Repair Procedure

  1. The ROPS control unit is very sensitive to movement and will trigger if not disconnected before unbolting from vehicle. Only after the first time DTC ROP-452 is set can it be erased. Try and erase DTC with scan tool. If DTC can be erased, go to step  3 . If DTC cannot be erased, go to next step.
  2. Replace ROPS control unit. See ROPS CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait 10 seconds so that control unit can complete diagnostic check. Check DTCs. If DTC ROP-452 is displayed, fault is still present. If DTC ROP-452 is not present, fault has been repaired.
