Computerized Engine Controls: Notes

S40 and V40 models use a Siemens fuel injection and electronic ignition system. System has complete self-diagnostic capabilities. System uses an Engine Control Module (ECM) that receives input from engine monitoring sensors. See INPUT DEVICES . ECM uses these input signals to control air/fuel mixture for emission control, fuel economy and good driveability.
