Connecting & Disconnecting Breakout Box: Connecting

  1. Remove control module. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - EXCEPT S40 & V40 article.
  2. Check that no pins or sockets are damaged on connector.
  3. Gently press Adapter (951 1504) or equivalent down into grooves inside control module box. Press to the limit position. See Fig 2.
  4. Insert Tool (999 5722) or equivalent puller around adapter. Move upper section of the tool forward as far as it will go. Pull up. See Fig 2.
  5. Check control module and control module connectors to ensure that male and female terminals are undamaged and secure (cannot be pressed in further). Check that cables to female terminals are secured to terminal pins.
  6. Connect Adapter (951 1504) or equivalent to control module connector (wiring side). See Fig 2.
  7. Connect Breakout Box (951 1428) or equivalent to adapter via Wiring (951 1499). See Fig 2.
