Four Conditions For Diagnostics

The PCM has 4 different conditions for diagnostics.

  1. Trip

    When all diagnostic functions have been completed.
  2. Drive Cycle

    Begins 15 seconds after the engine starts and finishes when the engine is switched off.
  3. Warm-Up Cycle

    Begins when the engine starts and engine coolant temperature is below 104°F (40°C), and finishes up when the engine temperature is above 183.2°F (84°C).
  4. Time

    Some diagnostics are carried out a set amount of time after a particular occurrence (for example when vehicle speed is above 14.3 MPH).
