Fault Conditions
Control modules communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication method - CAN (Controller Area Network). ECM has registered a fault in the communication on the CAN network. ECM-901A is stored in ECM.
Substitute values are:
- Accelerator pedal is ignored when braking
- Cruise control cannot be activated
- RPM is limited using fuel shut off. Maximum permitted engine speed depends on accelerator pedal position.
- Throttle unit follows pulse width modulation accelerator pedal signal directly and control signal via CAN is ignored.
Electronic Throttle System (ETS) warning lamp is lit while ECM-901A is set. DTC can also cause uneven idle and jerking during engine braking.
