Signals, ABS Control Module With Or Without STC/TRACS
The table below summarizes the input signals to and output signals from the ABS control module. The signal types are divided into directly connected signals, serial communication and Controller area network (CAN) communication. The following illustration displays the same information with the Volvo component designations.
| Input signals | Output signals |
| Directly connected: | Directly connected: |
| One Stop lamp switch
(3/9), two on TRACS. Four Wheel sensors (7/31, 7/32, 7/56, 7/57) |

| Central electronic module (CEM)
(4/56). Provides information about the car configuration. Engine control module (ECM) (4/46). Provides information about the actual torque, the driver's requested torque, the accelerator position and the rpm for calculating the stability control. Climate control module (CCM) (3/112). Provides information to manually switch off the STC function. Transmission control module (TCM) (4/28). Provides information about the current gear, next gear and lock-up status. (only automatic transmissions). |
Engine control module (ECM)
(4/46). Receives a request to decrease the torque during stability control. Central electronic module (CEM) (4/56):
Transmission control module (TCM) (4/28). Receives a request to delay a gear shift in event of substantial speed difference in the front wheels during stability control. Climate control module (CCM) (3/112). Receives a request to light the indicator in the STC button. Driver information module (DIM) (5/1):
