Installing wheels

The following applies when installing and tightening wheel nuts.

Ensure that the brake disk and wheel rim mating surfaces are clean.

Lubricate hub guide for the rims. Use rustproofing agent Volvo P/N 1161030-0.

Install wheel nuts but do not tighten. Tighten them crosswise  to 110 Nm  .

CAUTION:

Crosswise tightening and torque tightening is important to prevent stresses in the brake disc.

When tightening with an impact wrench, use torque socket 9512834 .

NOTE:

The torque socket is designed for tightening  wheel nuts using a standard pneumatic impact nut runner providing a torque of 250-350 Nm.
