Engine Compression

NOTE: Difference between cylinders must not exceed 25%.

Compression ratio is 9.0:1 on all S40 & V40 models.

Check engine compression at normal operating temperature with all spark plugs removed. Ignition MUST be switched OFF after each cylinder check or anti-theft system will disable ignition. To prevent damage to catalytic converter, make tests quickly and only when necessary.
