Location of components, engine compartment

Not all the following components are necessarily in the car. The components vary between engine types.

Component Remarks
1 Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor  
2 Ground terminal  
3 Coolant level sensor  
4 Camshaft reset valve 5 cylinder turbo: exhaust camshaft, 6 cylinder normally aspirated: intake camshaft, 6 cylinder turbo: exhaust and intake camshafts.
5 Turbocharger (TC) control valve Only turbocharged (TC) engines
6 Camshaft position sensor (CMP) 5 cylinder turbo: exhaust camshaft, 6 cylinder normally aspirated: intake camshaft, 6 cylinder turbo: exhaust and intake camshafts.
7 Brake pedal sensor  
8 Engine speed (RPM) sensor  
9 Outer temperature sensor  
10 Power supply terminal  
11 Fusebox  
12 Relay box  
13 Mass air flow (MAF) sensor Naturally aspirated engines: Also includes the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor
14 Intake air temperature sensor Only turbocharged (TC) engines
15 Boost pressure sensor Only turbocharged (TC) engines
16 Canister purge (CP) valve  
17 Ignition coil  
18 Injector  
19 Throttle unit Also includes the throttle position (TP) sensor
20 Knock sensor (KS)  
21 Engine cooling fan (FC) control module  
22 A/C pressure sensor  
23 Engine control module (ECM)
