Checking System At Cylinder Head
- Remove oil filler cap. Remove engine cover. Disconnect ventilation hose from cylinder head and pull away from its mount. Clean hose. Lubricate outside of hose with petroleum jelly and insert upside down between cylinder head and mount. See Figure. Secure with a NEW clamp.
- Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose at turbocharger and blow hose clean in direction of ventilation air flow. See Fig 1. Reconnect hose.
- Clean vacuum hose connection at intake manifold. Remove vacuum hose connection from intake. Disconnect vacuum hose from connection. Blow it clean using compressed air and if necessary it can be cleaned using a welding rod no thicker than .126 inches (3.2 mm). Ensure intake manifold is free of debris and contaminants.
- Connect vacuum hoses. Use a NEW gasket to seal vacuum hose connection to manifold and tighten to 19 ft. lbs. (26 N.m). Install engine cover and oil filler cap.
