Alarm (2005-2007): Function: Deactivation
In order to deactivate the alarm, the vehicle can be unlocked with the remote control. The rear electronic module (REM) receives a request for alarm deactivation from the upper electronic module (UEM) if the upper electronic module (UEM) receives an unlocking command from the remote control.
This means that if a locked vehicle with an activated alarm is then unlocked with the ignition key instead of the remote control, the alarm will be triggered. Exceptions include a vehicle with an activated function for alarm activation and deactivation with the key.
The alarm function can also be deactivated locally if the trunk lid/tailgate unlocking button on the remote control is depressed. In this case, the rear electronic module (REM) disregards signals from the switch indicating an open trunk lid/tailgate in the trunk lid/tailgate lock unit. The inclination sensor module (ISM) and mass movement sensor module (MMS) will also be deactivated temporarily. The vehicle alarm is reactivated once the hatch is closed.
The alarm can also be deactivated if an approved key is inserted in the ignition switch and is turned to position II.
