Engine Management System

This parameter is used to program the engine management system the car is equipped with. The engine management systems transmits different temperature signals to the combined instrument panel. The correct type of engine management system must be programmed before the combined instrument panel can display the correct engine coolant temperature (ECT).

Model years up to and including 2000 

There are two engine management system options: EMS 2000  or non EMS 2000  .

From the 2001 model year inclusive 

The following engine management systems are available:

• Diesel MSA 15.5, Melco 1 
• Diesel EDC 15. C, Melco 2  , EMS 2000 Bifuel 
• EMS 2000  .

Clarification of the engine management systems 

• Diesel MSA 15.5= D4192T2
• Diesel EDC 15C= D4192T3, D4192T4
• Melco 1= B4184SM
• Melco 2= B4184SJ
• EMS 2000= Naturally aspirated engines from model year 2000 inclusive and all turbocharged gasoline engines
• EMS 2000 Bifuel, for bi-fuel cars.
