Central Locking (2001-2004): Signals

The chart below summarizes the input signals to and output signals from the different control modules for the lock function. The signal types are divided into directly connected signals, serial communication and control area network (CAN) communication.

Central electronic module (CEM) (4/56) All doors, closed/open Rear doors, locked/unlocked Tailgate, closed / open Collision output signal from SRS (supplemental restraint system) control module, collision/no collision.	The driver's door module (3/126) Driver's door lock motor, lock/unlock Lock motor deadlocked, lock/unlock.
The climate control module (3/112) Switch for reduced alarm, on/off Switch child lock, on/off Switch valet lock, on/off.	The passenger door module (3/127) Passenger door lock motor, lock/unlock Lock motor deadlocked, lock/unlock.
The driver's door module (3/126) Driver's door, locked/unlocked Key, locking / unlocking. Driver's door module (DDM) (3/126) Driver's door, locked/unlocked Key, locking / unlocking Switch door panel, on/off. Passenger door module (3/127) Passenger door, locked/unlocked Switch door panel, on/off. Rear electronic module (4/58) Switch in the trunk lid, on/off (S60/S80 only). Upper electronic module (4/70) Remote control signal. LOCK, UNLOCK and TRUNK.	The central electronic module (4/56) transmits to: The driver information module (5/1) Text message, reduced alarm, valet lock, child lock and fuel tank filler cover unlocked (only cars with switch for fuel tank filler cover opening). Driver's door module (DDM) (3/126) Driver's door lock motor, lock/unlock Lock motor deadlocked, lock/unlock.
