Front Parking Sensors (Extra Equipment)

NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with front parking assistance, only an approved license plate and license plate holder with a size approved by Volvo may be used. The license plate and license plate holder must be mounted in accordance with Volvo's instructions for correct functionality to be guaranteed.

There are 4 front sensors located in the front bumper. The sensors can detect objects at a distance of about 0.8 meters (2.6 feet) directly in front of the vehicle.

The smallest objects which can be detected are:

Front parking assistance is active when the ignition switch is in position II and the gear selector is in reverse (R) or when the ignition switch is in position II and the vehicle is stationary or is driven forward at a speed up to 15 km/h (9.3 mph). Front parking assistance disengages automatically when the vehicle is driven forward at a speed of 16 km/h (10 mph) or more. If the vehicle's basic setting is used, front parking assistance is reactivated automatically when speed drops below 10 km/h (6.2 mph).

Parking assistance can also be disengaged manually using the switch on the panel of the climate control module (CCM).

The following applies if the vehicle's basic setting for reactivation has been changed (which can only be done by a workshop equipped with VIDA (Volvo scan tool)):

If the ignition is on and the vehicle is stationary, front parking assistance is disengaged if the parking brake is engaged. On vehicles with automatic transmission, front parking assistance is also disengaged (regardless of speed) if the gear selector is moved to park (P). Front parking assistance can also be disengaged manually using the switch on the panel of the climate control module (CCM).
