Interior ELECTROCHROMIC Mirror (IEC)
For internal rear view mirrors with the automatic anti-dazzle optional function, there is no manual control for anti-dazzle. The light sensor in the internal rear view mirror senses strong light from the rear and the anti-dazzle function operates automatically. The function cannot be switched off.
For internal rear view mirrors with the compass optional function, which can only be selected for rear view mirrors with anti-dazzle function, there is a display in the upper right-hand corner that shows in which direction the vehicle is pointing.
Eight different directions are indicated: N (north), NE (north east), E (east), SE (south east), S (south), SW (south west), W (west) and NW (north west).
The compass is activated automatically when the vehicle starts or when key position II is active. By pressing in the button on underneath of the internal rear view mirror, using a paper clip for example, the compass can be deactivated/activated or set.
The internal rear view mirror electronic control module (IEC) communicates with the Climate control module (CCM) via LIN bus. In the event of a fault, the Climate control module (CCM) shuts down the functions in the internal rear view mirror.
When reverse is engaged, the Climate control module (CCM) deactivates the internal rear view mirror's anti-dazzle function if it is dark. Otherwise the task of the internal rear view mirror electronic control module (IEC) is to control the integrated functions and monitor the status, as well as to transmit information to the Climate control module (CCM).
