Forward Facing Camera
The front facing camera is a sensor that is connected to the Forward Sensing Module (FSM). Information is sent from the camera to the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) in the form of an analogue video signal.
The camera is located at the upper edge on the inside of the windscreen, by the rear view mirror.
The forward facing camera is used to provide the control module with information about stationary and moving objects, as well as to identify and measure road lines.
To prevent condensation forming on the windscreen in front of the camera there is a heating element that is controlled via the control module.
When replacing the forward facing camera or the Forward Sensing Module (FSM), the new module must be calibrated using the diagnostic tool. This must also be done when replacing the control module during software downloading.
