Rear Parking Sensors
There are 4 rear sensors located in the rear bumper. The sensors can detect objects at a distance of about 1.5 meters (5 feet) directly behind the vehicle.
The smallest objects which can be detected are:
- plastic tube with a height of at least 1, 000 mm and a diameter of at least 75 mm (ISO standard).
Rear parking assistance is active when the ignition switch is in position II, the gear selector is in reverse (R) and there is no trailer electrically connected to the vehicle. Rear parking assistance disengages automatically when the gear selector is moved from reverse (R) to any other gear position or when a trailer is electrically connected to the vehicle. Parking assistance can also be disengaged manually using the switch on the panel of the climate control module (CCM).
The following applies if the vehicle's basic setting for reactivation has been changed (which can only be done by a workshop equipped with VIDA (Volvo scan tool)):
- if parking assistance has been disengaged with the switch when the vehicle is driven forward at a speed of 16 km/h (10 mph) or more, parking assistance is reactivated via the switch or by moving the gear selector to reverse (R).
- if parking assistance has been disengaged with the switch when the vehicle is driven forward at a speed of 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or less, it can only be reactivated with the switch.
