Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSE), Generation 4.3 (2009-10): Design: Aux-Input
V70
In order to playback audio from the rear seat entertainment system using the vehicle's ordinary audio system, the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE) is connected to the regular AUX input.
The AUX-input is a 3.5 mm stereo connection and can be used to connect, e. g., a portable CD-player or other media player to the system.
The connection is breaking which means, if nothing is connected, it is the audio signals from the Rear seat entertainment module (RSE)/DVD-player that are forwarded to the Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
When something is connected, this connection is broken and the audio from the connected unit is forwarded instead to the Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
Internal electrical connections:
- AUX input connection #1 is internally connected to AUX input #7.
- AUX input connection #2 is internally connected to AUX input #6. The circuit is broken when a 3.5 mm plug is connected.
- AUX input connection #3 is internally connected to AUX input #5. The circuit is broken when a 3.5 mm plug is connected.
