System Overview: Alarm

The alarm signals in different ways depending on what has caused the alarm to deploy:

• When the alarm has deployed by the doors, tailgate, hood, glass wires, angle or movement in the sensor, the alarm will start an alarm cycle. An alarm cycle means that the siren sounds for approximately 25 seconds and the hazard warning signal flashers flash for approximately 5 minutes. If the car has more alarm cycles (market dependent) the alarm will deploy again within 5 seconds, if the cause is still present. This procedure is repeated for the number of alarm cycles the car is programmed for. When all the alarm cycles have been run through the alarm is activated again. If a door or hatch is left open that door or hatch will not be included in the alarm loop when the alarm is activated once again
• If the battery voltage for the car suddenly disappears the siren sounds for approximately 5 minutes, then stops. In this instance the siren is supplied with power from its internal battery and does not sound as loud as when the siren is supplied with power by the car battery.
