GPS Reception
The GPS unit (option) has the task of receiving satellite signals for determining position. The antenna module (ATM) (16/110) transmits two different position signals on MOST:
- a received signal from the GPS satellites. Used by the multimedia module (MMM) (16/108) and the phone module (PHM) (16/60)
- a calculated signal. Used by the Phone Module (PHM) (16/60).
The calculated signal is obtained by dead reckoning. The antenna module (ATM) calculates the present position of the car based on the most recent GPS-signal. The control module receives information about direction and speed from the brake control module (BCM) and central electronic module (CEM) via the infotainment module (ICM) (16/1) to calculate the present position.
