Brake Control Module (BCM)

The Brake Control Module (BCM) sends CAN signals to the Engine Control Module (ECM) about the vehicle speed and status ABS control. This is so that the Engine Control Module (ECM) can calculate the correct speed and block the automatic start/stop engine function during ABS control. The BCM also sends information about the current brake pressure, which is one of the control parameters to allow the engine to run in autostop mode.
