Climate Control Module (CCM)

For Climate Control Module (CCM), the following components are included in this function:

• On/off button for automatic start/stop of engine.
• Humidity sensor.
• Electric coolant pump (connected to the Engine Control Module (ECM)).

When the vehicle is in autostop, the Climate Control Module (CCM) continues to regulate the climate control system and its other functions, however, with certain changes:

• The blower fan speed slows to reduce the energy consumption, the sound level and the air flow to the windscreen when there is a risk of misting when the evaporator's temperature increases and releases humid air.
• The heated rear windscreen and heated seat functions are switched off to reduce the energy consumption. However, the diodes in the buttons do not indicate that the functions have been disengaged as a short period of disengagement is not noticed.
• In order for the climate control module to supply heat to the passenger compartment when the vehicle is in autostart, an electric coolant pump starts for the circulation of coolant. The pump is of the same type that is in vehicles with a parking heater or additional heater. In the event of a heat demand in the passenger compartment during autostop, the Climate Control Module (CCM) requests that the Engine Control Module (ECM) activates the coolant pump.

  On vehicles with parking heaters or additional heaters, the fuel heater's existing coolant pump is used. The request is then sent from the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the Combustion Preheater Module (CPM), which activates the pump.

• In the event of a risk of mist on the windscreen, the Climate Control Module (CCM) can block autostop, or during autostop, request the engine to start. Risk of mist is calculated using the signals from the humidity sensor.
• The Climate Control Module (CCM) can, if the temperature difference from the set temperature is too high, block autostop or, during autostop, request to start the engine. The request to start the engine is sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
