Neutral Position Sensor
The neutral position sensor is used to ensure that the transmission is in neutral position. The sensor is an angle sensor that registers the position of the gear selector shaft in to the transmission. The gear selector shaft in to the transmission rotates in a given pattern when the gear selector changes gear position. Based on the angle that the input shaft rotates the neutral position sensor sends two PWM-signals to Engine Control Module (ECM).
The neutral position sensor is supplied with 5 V.
The neutral position sensor can be diagnosed by Engine Control Module (ECM).
The neutral position sensor is located on the gear selector shaft on the transmission.
