Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) (6/163) [2018-2022]: Description
The Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) consists of two parts:
- Electric motor:
The electric motor is fitted to the steering gear.
- Control module: The control module is integrated in the electric motor and contains all the logic and functioning for reading, writing, and storing DTC's. The control module also has a built-in NTC temperature sensor. The NTC temperature sensor allows the control module to diagnose, limit or disengage the power steering if there is excessive temperature and friction.
- Torque sensor: The torque sensor measures the force that the driver is using to steer.
The Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) is one unit. The control module, electric motor, and sensor are part of this unit.
