Steering Angle Sensor Module (SAS) [2018-2022]: Description

The Steering Angle Sensor Module (SAS) is integrated with the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS)-contact reel, which is installed in the Steering wheel module (SWM).

There is a steering wheel angle sensor integrated in the control module. The sensor consists of two magnet-resistive sensors. By using the resistive difference between the two sensors, the steering wheel angle sensor determines the steering wheel position.

In total, the steering wheel angle sensor can measure a range of +/- 720 degrees but the steering wheel can be turned mechanically max. +/-540 degrees.
