Diverter Valve: Notes

The diverter valve shuts off the supply of fresh air to the air injection lines during engine deceleration in order to prevent backfiring in the exhaust system. A vacuum signal operates the diverter valve, and on deceleration will divert air pump output, for about 4 seconds, to the atmosphere.
