High Altitude Compensation System: Description
The altitude compensator is a device that will automatically lean the carburetor's air/fuel mixture as altitude increases. Leaning of the mixture at high altitudes is necessary due to the fact that air density decreases as altitude increases.
The altitude compensator will bleed additional air into the carburetor, keeping the air/fuel mixture at a proper ratio.
