Ignition System: Description

The Bosch electronic ignition system consists of ignition control unit, breakerless distributor, high output ignition coil, ignition switch and battery. See Figure. The distributor contains a stationary magnetic pick-up coil and a rotating trigger wheel which has one tooth for each engine cylinder. Standard centrifugal and vacuum advance mechanisms are used.
